IRISE

DANCE PROJECT

“Where Dance Empowers the Next Generation”

Offering accessible dance programs, professional training, and community platforms that inspire and empower youth and dance artists.

Irise Dance Project was founded in 2023 by Amy Xotyeni, owner and director of Izizwe Dance Studio, after noticing a need for high-quality dance education that combines strong arts education with social-emotional skill building in The Greater Lawrence area. The project is dedicated to making this approach to dance education accessible to underserved youth, offering scholarships and community outreach programs to ensure that every child, regardless of their background, can experience the transformative power of dance.

Our comprehensive approach to dance education includes weekly classes in ballet, jazz, hip hop, modern, creative movement, and African dance for ages 2.5-18. Classes are held at Izizwe Dance Studio and focus on building strong technique while fostering self-awareness and expressive movement. Our goal is to empower students, boosting their confidence through dance education and performance.

Scholarships are available for those who qualify. We do not turn any child away due to an inability to pay tuition.

Irise Dance Project believes everyone can benefit from the healing power of dance. Our various partnerships with schools and organizations have provided us with the opportunity to educate and uplift people of all ages and backgrounds, furthering our mission to build empowered and caring communities through dance.
